Mike Derry BSc BArch RIBA ARB
Mike studied Architecture at Bath University and has over twenty-five years’ experience of working in architects’ offices in the UK and abroad. Whilst with Denys Lasdun & Peter Softley Associates in London, he worked on extensions to some iconic 20th century buildings including The Royal College of Physicians and The European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. As a director of another highly regarded London practice, Mike specialised mainly in leisure and residential buildings before moving to Devon and joining MTA Architects as a director in 2004.
Mike set up Derry Architects in 2013 and then teamed up with Joe Owen to form Derry Owen Architects in 2014. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
Joe has worked in the design and construction of buildings in and around the South hams for over twenty years. After picking up practical experience on site working for local builders he joined Paul Carpenter Associates (Structural Engineers) in 2000 and went on to head up their computer aided design department.
Joe set up his own in 2012 as Joe Owen Technical Drawing, where his combination of architectural design skill and structural engineering experience contributed to many successful planning approvals, building projects and satisfied clients. The subsequent formation of Derry Owen Architects in 2014 provides a broader range of services and combines practical experience, local knowledge and design flair with academic and professional credentials
